Golf Course

This old 9-hole course resides at the Hondo Air Base and dates back to the 1950s. It’s a traditional small-town layout featuring tight fairways and tiny greens. Two sets of tees allow for an 18-hole round. Under 3,000 yards, the layout features five par 4s, two par 3s, and two par 4s.

The Hondo Golf Course offers a fun and family-oriented environment. The golf course remains as one of the City’s valuable forms of entertainment, hosting numerous golf and washer pitching tournaments, providing the best golfing experience for everyone.

There are numerous tournaments throughout the summer including the weekly Wednesday Scramble, the Hondo-D’Hanis Rotary Club tournament, the Lions Club tournament, the Knights of Columbus tournament, and the Scott Muennink Memorial Throwdown. Some are traditional and some are a little on the wild side including toilets, frisbees, slingshots, and live music.
